Hello Summer!

Ahhh Summer time! My absolute favorite time of the year. BBQ's, pool parties and camping are just a few of the normal activities you will be doing this season with your loved ones but what about the weekends you just want to lounge around your home and let the kids play outside? I have come up with a small yet simple list of children activities this summer that will keep the kids busy and momma happy!

*Build a fort out of old sheets and sticks
*Bike rides
*Spot shapes in the clouds
* Water slide day (tarps or good old Slip-n-Slides)
* Outdoor tea party with Mom
*Make paper boats to float in puddles (or race @ the river)
*Tie a towel for super hero capes (Join in the fun Moms!)
*Picnic in the Park
*Go on a Plant Scavenger Hunt (Link)
*Hot Potato with water balloons
* Grab your favorite summer time treat (Shave Ice, cotton candy)
*Fishing with Dad
* Mud puddle jumping
* Climb trees and spot different animals
*Board games on the patio
* Movie night in the backyard (Projector, old sheets and of course, treats!)

..and of course when spending time with your loved ones, always remember to turn off your cell phone and enjoy the company of your family! (okay keep it on just to snap a few photos)

Mom's Wooden Spoon

**Every mom needs a wooden spoon right?! For making cookies of course!!

After searching Pinterest for some creative ideas for wood burning crafts, I came across a blog from Alisa Burke and fell in LOVE!! Absolutely amazing artist that does some incredible art work from water color paintings, to up cycling old tees to pretty much anything crafty! I saw her wood burned spoons knew that I would have to make some for gifts this year. Wanted to share my new obsession with wood burning crafts and great gift ideas below...

Regular plain spoons from Target about to get a face lift... I just created a pattern that I liked from Alisa and put a little spin on them.

Here are some of the other wood burning gifts that I have made over this wonderful weekend off... All for under $3 bucks a piece.

Enjoy!

My rock!

I know this man who drives me crazy with every look he gives me. He is my best friend, my rock, my cozy blanket on a cold winters night.
